Introduction

There was only thing that I ever wanted to be. A magician. No, let me say that properly: The Greatest Magician Ever!

Circumstances and life however, eventually prevented me from attaining this particular goal, but before they intervened I spent most of my time learning, practicing and performing new magic tricks whenever, and whenever I could, on whomever I could.

Needless to say I had a great many friends when I was growing up and was always the sideshow of any party! And this I believe, was just the thing which made me such a good magician.

To keep up with the necessity of wanting to be popular with everyone, I practiced very hard indeed at my magic. Whenever I wasn’t reluctantly studying for an exam, or playing the great magician for my friends, I was practicing my magic tricks.

My name might not be up there in lights along with other greats of our times such as David Copperfield, Penn and Teller, or famous street magician, David Blaine.

And I definitely can’t come anywhere near Houdini’s magical genius, but after all these years I am glad to say that I can still perform with the best of them.

That said, it should be noted that becoming a credited and creditable magician in this day an age is no easy matter. Where earlier, magic and illusions could be performed to the wonderment of an eager audience, these days real magicians have a harder time of convincing their audiences that a “trick” is real.

Skepticism and cynicism have become the watchwords of the day helped ably with the advent of the television. However, there is no need to despair for the budding new magician.

The art of magic and illusion is still well and alive, and thriving on the attention it receives from all of its fans, skeptics, cynics and most all from the unrelenting eye of the camera.

Magic is now, more than ever in fact, something to be treasured and marveled at; the performances something to be looked forward to with mounting enthusiasm, and talked about excitedly afterward; the Magician someone to be looked up to with wonder in your eyes, and spoken about with equal wonder and awe.

And if that was too much wonder and awe for you, then think about the last time that you attended a magic show performed by a great magician.

Chances are that you came away with stars in your eyes, wanting to know how to perform those tricks for yourself.

Of course not everyone comes away with stars in their eyes. Some people are born cynics and prefer reality to a night of illusion, even if it is all meant in fun.

It is I have to say however, the best feeling in the world when as a magician you manage to perform a perfect illusion for these natural born skeptics and they end up being reluctantly impressed because they couldn’t figure out how you did it!

Magical Friends

At some point in time, just to be a great magician. For me this time came when I was five years old. I know this might seem a little young, but I was a precocious child and ever eager to try anything new. Read on...
